About Forme

Forme is a visualisation support studio founded and led by Lauren, an urban designer and visual communicator working at the intersection of spatial strategy and storytelling.

The Studio

Forme Visualisation Support Studio is a creative visual communication studio specialising in architectural visualisation, 3D rendering, and immersive design experiences for the built environment sector.

The studio was created to bridge a gap: between technical design thinking and emotive visual communication. Too often, complex spatial ideas are either over-technical or overly aesthetic. Forme exists in the middle - where clarity, atmosphere and narrative work together.

I help architects, designers, developers, and property professionals transform ideas, technical drawings, and concepts into compelling visual narratives that communicate clearly, inspire confidence, and bring projects to life.

Background

Hi, I'm Lauren. With three years of academic training in urban design, planning and masterplanning, I have developed a deep understanding of how places are structured, regulated and delivered. Alongside this, five years of experience in graphic design and visual communication have shaped a strong eye for composition, hierarchy and tone.

This crossover allows Forme to produce visuals that are not simply beautiful - but spatially intelligent, strategically aligned and submission-ready.

Having created assets for both university projects, professional design codes, masterplans, planning applications and client presentations, I understand both studio culture and professional constraints.

My Experience and Credentials

Forme is underpinned by a foundation of both professional creative practice and formal urban design training. My experience spans strategic communication, spatial thinking and visual storytelling - equipping me with the ability to interpret complex ideas and translate them into clear, compelling visuals.

Cambridge Technical Diploma

My foundation in communication began with a Cambridge Technical Diploma in Journalism and Media Communication, where I received multiple accolades for my investigative work exploring and communicating young people’s experiences of climate justice protests.

This training developed my skills in storytelling, editorial structure, visual hierarchy and audience awareness.

Studying media production, narrative construction and ethical communication instilled an early understanding of how information is framed, how stories are shaped and how visuals influence perception. This also gave me a foundation in the Adobe Creative Suite - software that is now my bread and butter.

These principles continue to inform my approach at Forme.

2023 -2026

BA UDPD - Oxford Brookes

I hold a BA (Hons) in Urban Design, Planning and Development. My academic training focused on masterplanning, spatial strategy, design coding and sustainable placemaking.

Through extensive studio work and research-led projects, I developed the ability to interpret policy, analyse context and construct coherent spatial narratives. Producing detailed design codes, movement strategies and green–blue infrastructure frameworks strengthened my technical understanding of how places function - not just how they appear.

This academic grounding ensures that Forme’s visuals are spatially intelligent, strategically aligned and appropriate for professional planning environments.

Lauren Taylor Creative Projects

Before founding Forme, I worked across multiple international boutique surf camps and water sport oriented leisure brands, delivering social media an event management, as well as content creation for distinctive, experience-led destinations.

My work involved developing visual identities, producing branded digital assets, curating campaigns and shaping narrative-led content strategies.

Working with boutique hotels and lifestyle-focused businesses sharpened my understanding of atmosphere, audience perception and the importance of cohesive visual language.

This period built a strong foundation in composition, brand tone, digital presentation and client-facing communication - skills that now inform every visual I produce.

Today

Founding Forme

Forme brings together these all of these disciplines: a strong multi-disciplinary creative communication foundation, blended with urban design training, and topped off with extensive knowledge of the built environment industry, and its unique needs.

Through the studio, I apply my unique blend of experiences to support planning consultancies, architecture practices, developers, and other diverse clienteles, with visuals that are both refined and rigorously considered.

The result is work that balances aesthetic sensitivity with technical credibility, helping projects communicate clearly, confidently and with purpose... Rest assured, you're in safe hands!

Skills and Accrediatations

Philosophy

Forme is guided by three core principles:

Clarity

Visuals should simplify complexity without diluting meaning. Every drawing must communicate something essential.

Atmosphere

Places are lived experiences, not just plans or technical drawings. Illustrations should evoke scale, materiality, rhythm and life.

Narrative

Design is argument. Every visual should support a wider spatial story - explaining not just what is proposed, but why it matters.

Areas of Expertise

My practice spans the full visual communication pipeline for the built environment, combining technical precision with creative storytelling to bring architectural, urban design, landscape and garden design ideas to life:

  • 3D Modelling (SketchUp)
Accurate, flexible 3D models that translate drawings and concepts into clear spatial representations, ideal for design development, presentations, and client communication.

  • Architectural Rendering – Stills & Video (Lumion)
High-quality, photorealistic renders and cinematic walkthroughs that showcase materials, lighting, context, and atmosphere to help clients and stakeholders visualise projects with clarity and confidence.

  • Conceptual Illustration & Streetscape Visuals (Procreate & Adobe Illustrator)
Expressive, design-led illustrations that communicate early-stage ideas, placemaking concepts, streetscapes, and urban narratives in a visually engaging and accessible way.

  • Vignettes & Coloured Plan Drawings (Photoshop)
Refined vignettes and coloured plans that enhance technical drawings, improve legibility, and elevate presentation quality for reports, planning submissions, and client-facing documents.
